BPM Series: Software AG acquires webMethods

On April 5, Software AG - the German integration giant announced that they are acquiring US based integration company webMethods. The experts and analysts seem to be of the view that the webMethods acquisition complements Software AG offerings to the marketplace and positions them as one of the strong players in SOA and BPM space. Indeed. The challenge for Software AG now though is to integrate offerings from webMethods and offer a credible roadmap that will address the needs of existing and potential customers. Immediate gain from this acquisition for the company is a solid customer footprint in North American market.
